The Worship Team is inviting you to assist in providing musical leadership for the Assembly’s opening worship.  You’ll be supporting the hymns and liturgy in addition to singing during the Offering.  Rehearsal will begin at 1:30 pm at the Meeting House, room location to be determined. A link to the music “God Has Work For Us To Do” is found below.
Please indicate your interest by emailing the choir director, Deacon Tom Snyder, Director of Music at St. John’s Phoenixville ftsiii@gmail.com . Be sure to include your voice part.  You’ll receive a link to the music and further information as it becomes available.

Plan to attend: Learn about synod finances and budget

Treasurer Janet Neff, CPA, and finance committee chair Albert Glenn will host a pre-assembly Zoom meeting to review synod financial reports and the proposed 2024 budget. All voting members are strongly encouraged to attend. This will be a time to learn and ask questions of our fiscal leaders.

Update: Deadline extended to March 30, 2023

How does the work of Jesus get done in Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod?  By faithful members of our congregations who love Jesus, love the Church, and are willing to take leadership positions in our Synod.  At the upcoming Synod Assembly, May 5-6, 2023, we have positions of leadership we need to fill to do the work of the Church together.  This year we will elect a Synod Secretary, we need leaders to serve on the Synod Council, and we have some open positions on the Consultation Committee to fill. Learn more here.

Please be proactive in seeking diversity in nominees, both with regard to youth and young adults, and with regard to persons of color or whose primary language is other than English.  Our Synod Constitution sets an intention that at least 20% of our representation be persons of color or whose primary language is other than English.

LGBTQ persons of any gender identity are also welcome to be nominated for, and serve in, these positions in our Synod. The nomination form should list the gender identification of the nominee, whether man, woman, or non-binary/non-conforming.

You Can Change The Institutional Church
Each year the Synod Assembly considers actions to set policy directions and to present issues for consideration by the Churchwide Assembly. The Committee on Reference and Counsel has prepared a webinar to help you learn how you can create changes in the church through the Synod Assembly, the difference between a resolution and a memorial, and ways to write an effective resolution. The deadline to submit a resolution for consideration is April 5, 2023.

COVID Protocol

We are committed to provide a safe Assembly experience for all participants, including those who are older or have conditions that elevate their risk of severe COVID disease.

Due to the continuing prevalence of COVID in our region, all participants are strongly encouraged to wear an N-95 or equivalent mask. As we get closer to the date of the assembly we will reassess the COVID situation, and this recommendation may be relaxed or upgraded to a requirement. Watch this page for any changes to this protocol.

We have determined that it is not feasible to offer a hybrid meeting with provision for remote participation. There will be a live stream available for those who cannot attend.
