"All around us are those who yearn for freedom from worry, loneliness, abuse, fear, and whatever else is oppressing them. Grace gives us the ability to approach every person we meet with an open heart and acceptance," writes Liberty Lutheran Services CEO Luanne Fisher in a recent column in The Daily News.
"It says something fundamentally important about our attitude as members of a civil society when we believe that those of us who have freedom also have a responsibility to help others secure the same freedoms that we cherish and hold dear," she writes
"Opportunities to serve and protect are all around us. With grace and God’s love, we can help others to achieve abundance in extraordinary ways, even in times of unbearable hardship and loss."
