Transition Information Sessions

SEPA Transitions: Info Session – July 14 or 15, 2025

At assembly, the Transitional Ministry Development Team (TMDT) presented our new process for pastoral leadership transitions. You can watch the video of the speech. We will work with congregations to craft an individualized transition plan. What from the congregation’s mission and history and expectations needs to be viewed through a framework of respect, release, or reimagine? What reflections and actions might best prepare the congregation to call their next pastor to help the church continue to live out God’s call? As part of that work, each congregation in transition will pick one of three paths to guide this leadership transition: choose transformation, choose partnership, or choose resurrection.
