Love Revolution

The first cohort of Love Revolution congregations will launch their two-year journey this fall, focusing on loving God and loving our neighbors.

Application for the first cohort will be available soon. And don’t worry if your congregation isn’t chosen for the first round. Love Revolution will make resources and ideas available to the entire synod.

What is it?

  • It’s a process to develop spiritual and leadership skills for congregational leadership
  • It’s a two year journey where leaders deepen the sense of God moving in their life
  • It’s about helping congregations focus their work on Loving God and Loving Neighbor

It’s not another program

  • We are starting a revolution as we seek to help congregations discover what’s important and evolve into this new landscape of doing ministry
  • We are intentionally starting a movement (of the Spirit) that will seek to revive and renew the church.

How much does it cost?

  • Thankfully, the Love Revolution has been funded by the Lilly Endowment, Inc. Resources from the grant will almost totally cover the cost of participating in the Revolution.

Love God. Love Neighbor.

  • Live among God’s Faithful People
  • Hear God’s word and share in his supper
  • Proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ in word and deed
  • Serve all people following the example of Jesus
  • Strive for justice and peace in all the earth

Because I am baptized

Love Revolution: Love God and Love Neighbor is a multi-year learning community that gathers both lay and rostered leaders to renew their sense of purpose and vocation by exploring the Baptismal Covenant as they discover ways God’s love revolutionizes the way we live in the world.

Atter the pandemic, many congregations are struggling to tind meaning and purpose as they attempt to replicate the institutional church. But the institutional church is broken and the only way forward is to help people understand the crucial role relationships play in helping form vibrant and vital communities of faith. Through this culture shift, participating congregations will be accompanied in relationships with coaches and mentors.

Love Revolution will also otter learning opportunities for the whole synod in the fall and spring as we invite others outside the formal learning process to learn about cultivating vibrant communities of faith. Affirming the work of the Holy Spirit across our whole synod, we will discover how God has equipped and called us with unique gifts to serve and build the Beloved Kingdom.
