Love Revolution Grant Application
Love Revolution is a five-year program funded by the Lilly Endowment Inc, intended to ignite a paradigm shift towards renewing and living out a deep love of God and neighbor, all neighbors. Love Revolution will work with ELCA churches and their surrounding communities to renew their sense of purpose and vocation, engage in social action, address justice, and foster greater connection across divides to build strong and thriving congregations and communities. The revolution is meant to transform our Church.
We hope this Love Revolution sparks a movement across SEPA Synod and the ELCA as we recommit to Love God and Love Neighbor. Come join us!
Please apply before August 26, 2024. Additional rounds of applications will be solicited in the coming years so if you are unable to apply this summer, please consider doing so in the future.
Love Revolution: Love Revolution: Love God and Love Neighbor is a multi-year learning community that gathers both lay and rostered leaders to renew their sense of purpose and vocation. Exploring their Baptismal Covenant, they will discover how God’s love revolutionizes the way we live in the world.
Post-pandemic, many congregations are struggling to find meaning and purpose as they attempt to replicate the institutional church. But the institutional church has been shaken. We believe the way forward is to strengthen relationships with God and one another, within our congregations and communities. Relationships play a foundational role in helping form vibrant and vital communities of faith. Coaches and mentors will accompany congregations through this culture shift, building relationships.
Love Revolution will also offer learning opportunities for the whole synod, and beyond, in the fall and spring to learn about cultivating vibrant communities of faith. Affirming the work of the Holy Spirit across our whole synod, we will discover how God has equipped and called us with unique gifts to serve and build the Beloved Kingdom.
