“The Church Is In The Innovation Business”
This season, Bishop Davenport and the synod pastoral staff invite you to join them in reading and discussing Dwight Zscheile’s book “The Agile Church”. In this book Dr. Zscheile, vice president for innovation and professor of mission at Luther Seminary, draws on scripture and history to explore how the early church learned to meet people where they were and form relationships in which God’s love could be seen.
“‘The Agile Church’ is a book that explores how churches today can find themselves in this larger story,” Zscheile says.
“It may sound strange to say it, but the church is in the innovation business. Its’ identity lies in participating in God’s creative work to heal the world,” he says. Zscheile offers an overview of the book in the video below.
