Tanzania Mission: The First Six Months
Susan and Tom MacPherson
Bwana Asifiwe (the Swahili phrase for “Praise the Lord”) for SEPA Synod Lay Missionaries Susan and Tom MacPherson!
- The MacPhersons have completed their first six months serving at the Irente Children’s Home, a mission of the North Eastern Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania.
- The Irente Children’s Home provides a safe and loving home for young children who are orphans or whose families cannot presently care for them.
- In addition to Tom and Susan’s work caring for the children, Susan teaches English, bookkeeping, and computer skills to workers at the orphanage and Tom serves as a handyman and wood chopper.
How can we support this mission?
The MacPherson share God’s love and encounter God’s love daily with all the people they meet. Their commitment to Irente is two years. Please consider joining or continuing in support of this vital mission as they complete their first year.
We ask all our SEPA congregations to pray regularly for the MacPhersons. To support the mission financially, mail a check payable to SEPA Synod addressed to Ms. Joanne Carlson, SEPA Synod, Wiedemann Center, 7241 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19119. If you prefer, you can channel it through your church, for forwarding to the synod. Either way, note “MacPherson Mission” on the memo line.
