Bear Creek Camp Celebrates 50 Years
In 2024, Bear Creek Camp will mark its 50th anniversary. Bear Creek, building on the legacy of the predecessor camps of Ministerium, Miller, and Hagan, continues to provide an opportunity for people of all ages to learn and grow in faith through time in God’s creation. Here are announcements and resources so you can join in the celebration:
Summer Camp Registration is Now Open
“One in Love is the theme for Bear Creek’s 50th Summer Camp. Your congregation should have received information in January. You can learn more about camp, summer staff, and registration at the Summer Camp web page. Download the Summer Camp Promotion Toolkit including a poster, promo video, brochure and bulletin insert.
Research has shown that youth that participate in a camp experience are nearly 70% more likely to say that being a part of a faith community like a church congregation is important to them throughout their life. Many pastors, youth directors, and other ministry professionals cite an experience at camp as critical to their call to full-time ministry.
Remember BCC during Worship
A resource is available offering prayers so you can give thanks for this gift of camp, the joy of campers, the dedication of staff, and for all who have been blessed by Bear Creek. This resource includes an anniversary prayer, prayers for milestones in the camp’s year, and blessings for campers, staff, and volunteers. Download it here.
50th Anniversary Prayer – for worship any Sunday in 2024, especially appropriate on July 7, 2024
Creator God, from generation to generation you have blessed us with your presence in the wilderness. We give you thanks now for 50 years of worshipping, praising, and learning about you at Bear Creek Camp. We give you thanks for the predecessor camps of Ministerium, Miller, and Hagen who provided camp experiences for generations before that blazed the trail for Bear Creek. We ask your blessings on Bear Creek: the land, the campers, and the staff. May it continue to be a place where faith grows, friendships form, and you, God, are present.
A Night of Stories and Celebration
Join the BCC community on April 20th at the Homewood Suites in Center Valley, PA. We will celebrate 50 Years of BCC with dinner, sharing of stories, fellowship, BINGO, dancing, a silent auction, and more! Tickets are $125 until April 12.
