Assembly offerings set records

“We, though many, are one body in Christ.” – Romans 12:15

Our Tanzanian companion synod’s SEKUCo project, Tennessee flood relief and the Synod’s Fund for Mission have benefited from record-setting offerings received at May’s Assembly worship services.

Overall, Assembly voting members and visitors contributed nearly $10,000 to these worthy causes, despite the difficult economic times.  These offerings were larger than Assembly offerings in recent memory, according to the Synod’s business office.

The offering of $6,305 from the Assembly’s opening worship service was split evenly between our Tanzanian partners’ Sebastian Kolowa University College (SEKUCo) and the Synod’s Fund for Mission.  Your support of the mission fund allows us to support critical initiatives such as mission congregations, disaster relief, congregational grants and, most importantly, evangelical outreach through congregations in our five-county area.  With these gifts we are also able to support our Tanzanian diocese as they develop an extensive special education degree, which will bless teachers and students with special needs for generations to come.

Saturday’s offering for ELCA Disaster Response efforts in the wake of recent floods in Tennessee gathered $3,220.

Our thanks and blessings go to all of the Assembly attendees who contributed to these essential ministries!  If you made a cash gift to the Assembly offerings and would like to be credited in our forthcoming honor roll of donors, please provide information about your gift to Carol Ann Murray, mission support specialist, at 267.323.3745 or via email at ">.

If you would like to make an additional gift to one of these worthy causes, please send a check payable to Southeastern PA Synod c/o Carol Ann Murray, SEPA Synod, 7241 Germantown Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19119.
