Join us on Thursday, May 9, for a day of learning, inspiration, advocacy, and celebration! It’s our 45th anniversary and we’re excited to share our gratitude for the past and hope for the future with you! We’re also marking ELCA World Hunger’s 50th anniversary in a celebration of all the ways Lutherans show up to feed and care for our neighbors in Pennsylvania and around the world!

Day of Learning and Advocacy

Trinity Lutheran Church in Camp Hill and Pennsylvania State Capitol (9 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.) Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m.

The day will include:

  • Continental breakfast beginning at 8:30 a.m.
  • Learning sessions and policy updates on issues from hunger to housing and training for civic engagement
  • Exhibits to browse and connect with exciting things happening across the church in PA and nationally
  • Boxed lunch and preparation for legislative visits
  • Worship with sermon by ELCA Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton (Offering goes to ELCA World Hunger)
  • Transportation to and from the Capitol
  • Legislative visits arranged by LAMPa (Find out who your lawmakers are here)
  • Group photo in the beautiful Capitol Rotunda

Set a Welcome Table — Gala Dinner and Celebration of Advocates

Beginning at 6:30 p.m., join us at the Hilton Downtown Harrisburg for an evening celebrating 45 years of Lutheran Advocacy Ministry in Pennsylvania and 50 years of Lutheran World Hunger Ministry. Social hour* begins at 5:30 p.m.

The evening will include:

  • Special dinner with live music
  • Silent auction, benefitting scholarships
  • Keynote address
  • Celebration of Advocates from each PA Synod
  • Live auction of painting of The Table by artist Freiman Stoltzfus. (Look for print sales opening soon.)
  • Music by ARTolerance – Udi Bar David, cellist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, is joined by master bandoneonist Shinjoo Cho.

May 8 — ELCA AMMPARO Special Event: Gather with neighbors engaged or interested in this holistic, whole church commitment by the ELCA, as a church in the world, to accompany migrant children and families. Hosted by Tree of Life Lutheran Church, 1492 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg. Find out more and register here.

Travel Logistics – Ample parking is available at Trinity. If you are coming by Amtrak, please contact the LAMPa office as soon as possible by emailing  to arrange a shuttle from the Harrisburg station. Also email us if you are interested in ride sharing and we can connect you with others from your area! The Capitol Complex can be difficult to navigate, involving many steps and uneven floor surfaces. If you will need assistance accessing the building, or wonder if you might, please contact us at .
