The Religious Leaders Council of Greater Philadelphia will hold an interfaith prayer service for the intention of Mayor Cherelle Parker and Members of Philadelphia City Council.

The service will be led by the RLC Co-Conveners: Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez, Archdiocese of Philadelphia; The Rt. Rev. Daniel Gutiérrez, Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania; Imam Anwar Muhaimin, Quba Masjid; and Rabbi David Straus of the Jewish Community Relations Council, Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia.
The prayer service will include sacred scripture readings from the Jewish, Muslim, and Christian faith traditions. Attendees will recite a pledge written by the Religious Leaders Council of Greater Philadelphia titled A Call from People of Faith to Stop Violence. Participants will also light candles to visually welcome the light of peace into our community.
“This service is about praying for Mayor Parker, the City Council, and the City, building bridges of peace, and supporting one another in the light as a community of communities,” said Rev. Edward Livingston, Interfaith Philadelphia’s Director of Religious Community Initiatives. Interfaith Philadelphia is the coordinator of the Religious Leaders Council of Greater Philadelphia.
