An Invitation from Bishop Davenport

Now to the One who can do infinitely more than all we can ask or imagine according to the
power that is working among us… — Ephesians 3:20

Dare to imagine…

…A deeper relationship with God and others

…Having that Sunday feeling seven days a week

…The Spirit calling us to look different 1, 2, 3 years from now

…Open, creative leadership shaped by God

Beloved Siblings in Christ,

Join us as together we explore how the Holy Spirit is at work in and through each of us to build up the Kingdom of God.  Together we will experience using the rich gifts among us to encourage, support and create a community that makes a difference in the lives of those we are called to love and serve.

“Imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one.  I hope someday you’ll join us, and the world will live as one.” — John Lennon

Emily Scott is a church planter who “makes new spiritual communities that are brimming with life, questions, and hope for a more just world.” Emily currently serves as the founding pastor of Dreams and Visionsin Baltimore, an imaginative spiritual community of restoration, rooted in the LGBTQ+ community. From 2008-2017, Emily served as the founding pastor of St. Lydia’s Dinner Church in Brooklyn, where worship is a full meal, shared around a dinner table. Her book, For All Who Hunger: Searching for Communion in a Shattered World, will be released in Spring, 2020 from Convergent, an imprint of Penguin Random House.

Dawn Alitz has been serving as the Director of the Center for Lifelong Learning since 2016. Her expertise is in the areas of adult faith formation, coaching, and program coordination. Serving as a lay leader, adjunct professor, and pastor, she has over twenty years of experience in congregational leadership in both mission-start and established congregations. Her role in the Center for Lifelong Learning places her in a unique position to design, pilot, and build out new business models for theological education, lifelong learning, and congregational leadership support.

They will lead us in practical, interactive sessions designed to lead us in the holy practice of imagination.
