Jennifer Thompkins\nMWUL President & CEO\nJennifer Thompkins serves as the Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League (MWUL) fifth President and CEO\, a role she has held since February 2022. In this role\, Jennifer sits on the Wilmington Center for Equity Education and Policy (WCEEP) board\, the Racial Equity Consortium\, and the Redding Education Consortium. \nAs the President and CEO\, Jennifer has expanded MWUL’s program reach and expanded youth\, health and housing programming to meet the growing demand in Wilmington and across the state. \nPrior to MWUL\, Jennifer served as Director and then Senior Director of TriZen\, a business consulting and leadership development company\, since 2017. \nJennifer holds a BA in History and Africana Studies from Ursinus College (2009) and a Master of Theological Studies degree from Harvard University in 2011. \nHer civic involvements have included the Norristown NAACP Youth Chapter\, the Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA\, and youth leadership roles at Theist Temple Church of God in Christ (C.O.G.I.C.) and the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction C.O.G.I.C. New York Theological Seminary appointed Francois as the Director of the Master of Professional Studies Program at Sing Sing and Bedford Hills Correctional Facilities and Associate Professor of Liberation Theology. His second book\, titled Silencing White Noise: Six Practices to Overcome our Inaction on Race\, was released August 2022 through Brazos Press. His upcoming book tentatively entitled Outing Blue Privilege: A Call for Public Love when Public Safety is Not Enough is under contract with Oris Books. Francois’ pastoral activism takes shape around racial equity\, economic justice\, and criminal justice reform. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Morehouse College with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Religion\, holds a Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School\, and earned a Doctor of Ministry from Emory University. He serves as a commissioner of the Martin Luther King Jr. Commission of the New Jersey State Department and national co-chair of the Social Justice Commission of the Progressive National Baptist Convention\, Inc. Francois co-authored the book Christian Minister’s Manual: For the Pulpit and the Public Square for All Denominations—the most progressive and comprehensive clergy resource and the first interdenominational manual written for Black clergy in 56 years. He also has bylines in HuffPost\, The Hill\, Religion Dispatches\, Sojourners and The Christian Century concerning a range of matters pivoting around race\, class and religion in America.

DESCRIPTION:Almost two billion people on Earth are adherents to Islam\, yet many American Christians know little or nothing about this faith. \nThe Rev. Dr. David D. Grafton is the Professor of Islamic Studies and Christian-Muslim Relations on the faculty of the Duncan Black Macdonald Center for the Study of Islam and Christian-Muslim Relations at Hartford International University. The Duncan Black Macdonald Center is the oldest center of its kind in the United States. Dr. Grafton holds a PhD in Islamic Studies\, from the Center for the Study of Islam and Christian-Muslim Relations\, University of Birmingham\, England\, an MDiv from Luther Seminary\, St. Paul\, Minnesota\, and a BA from Capital University\, Columbus\, Ohio. \nDr. Grafton’s academic interests focus on the history of Christian-Muslim relationships\, Lutheranism and Islam\, Christian theological perspectives on Islam\, the history of Christianity in the Middle East\, American Christian perspectives of religion and society in the Middle East. He is the author of numerous articles\, and chapters of books on Christian-Muslim relations\, as well as The Christians of Lebanon: Political Rights in Islamic Law (I.B. Tauris\, 2004)\, and Piety\, Politics and Power: Lutherans Encountering Islam in the Middle East (Wipf and Stock\,2009)\, The Contested Origins of the 1865 Arabic Bible: Contributions to the Nineteenth Century Nahda (Brill\, 2015).
