DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, April 25\, 2020 from 9:00 am – 12:30 pm at Reformation Lutheran Church in Media\, Dr. Crystal Hall will explore Luke’s Road to Emmaus story (Luke 24:13-35) and the way it connects with our lives as those who walk with the risen Christ now and how we are called to share this good news of resurrection. Her research interests include Paul’s writings\, poverty and wealth in the Roman economy\, ecology and liberation theologies. Her commitments include empire criticism\, reading the biblical text within its historical contexts of empire\, as well as feminist theory. She works to privilege voices that have historically been excluded from the classroom and the church.\n\nRegistration is $10 per person and must be postmarked by April 1. Is your congregation already Reconciling in Christ but you want to know what more you can do? Do you feel like you just don’t know how to be the best ally you can be? Well\, then do we have a day for you! \nIn God’s Image is a day-long (9-2) program of worship\, workshops\, conversation\, and resources. Sponsored by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod\, ELCA\, and hosted at Reformation Lutheran Church in Media\, PA\, this is sure to be a great day. Folks from all over the region—Lutheran and non-Lutheran\, church “professionals” and those who just want to know more—will gather at Reformation to share their experiences\, learn about ministry potentials in their contexts\, and share joys and concerns about inclusive and expansive ministry.
