Summary
The position works in partnership with the Manager of Community Engagement (MCE) to provide leadership to the integrated community engagement plan of the region. The Assistant Manager of Community Engagement (AMCE) leads 3-4 Community Engagement Leaders to attract prospective members to Thrivent and grow membership in key markets in the region. The AMCE works with the MCE to develop a strategic plan to grow membership by helping members and prospective members be wise with money, find financial clarity and inspiring them to live generously. The AMCE grows a key market in the region, and models effective community engagement with their team of Community Engagement Leaders:

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Lead Regional Community Engagement Team
- In partnership with the MCE, build, motivate, lead, and retain a deployed diverse Community Engagement Team
- Lead and manage 3-4 CEL’s in region (in partnership with MCE) with the goal of delivering on regional and market growth plans, i.e. prospect connects, member/prospective member events and membership growth
- Develop and activate strategic partnerships with organizations in the region; create and execute on plan with each to drive results, i.e., financial education workshops, prospect connects and membership growth
- Develop a key market within region
- Other leadership responsibilities as prescribed by MCE and TMN plan
Drive Business Results via TMN/TCOMM
- Assist MCE and Engagement Specialist in tactical business planning process from a “boots on the ground” perspective
- Share the voice of the member back to corporate program areas to ensure member needs are being met
- With the MCE, lead CEL’s to activate members in their local markets to become advocates of Thrivent and prospective members to become more aware of membership, it’s benefits and communal impact
- Act as regional lead on the Thrivent Communities/Partners program in order to drive member activation, engagement and membership growth within FP practice
- Act as liaison between regional Thrivent Communities/Partners and corporate program area
- Assist regional Thrivent Communities/Partners with their annual business plan
- Act as VP of one TMN
Membership Programs/Other
- Be the regional lead contact for Thrivent special projects, i.e. Generosity Expressions, Engaging Generations, Habitat, Thrivent Builds and Faith Builds
- Represent Thrivent’s Membership opportunities within the region and in conjunction with business plan (i.e. speaking opportunities, events)
Required Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Highly connected to their local Christian community
- People leadership experience and growing talent
- Volunteer or community leadership
- Demonstrated ability to build, activate, and leverage networks
Other Critical Factors
- Must live in region and could travel up to 50%, primarily within the region.
- Proven results in CEL role
- Delegation, influence and collaboration skills across region and enterprise
- Must provide examples of collaboration, commitment and courage in current role
- Ability to work evenings/weekends.
