Trinity Lutheran Church, in Lansdale, PA is looking to hire a Director for Faith Formation. This position is responsible for developing and managing the teams of adult and youth, who will vision, plan and implement programming, teaching, training, and fellowship that engage all generations in faith formation activities.

The position is full-time with benefits. The beginning date is September 1, 2017.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as staff member on the ministry team for the Faith Formation Hub
  • Oversee or assign to others the leadership to implement the ministry of:

o   Baptism Ministry

o   Early Learning

o   Sunday School

o   VBS

o   Youth in Grades 5-6 (CHAOS)

o   Youth in Grades 7-9 (Here We Go)

o   Youth in Grades 8-10 (D2D)

o   Youth in Grades 9 – 12 (Senior High)

o   Adult Faith Formation

o   Small Groups

  • This includes retreats, mission trips, fellowship, synodical events, service events, and intergenerational events.
  • Work with and supervise Director for Early Learning.
  • Work with and supervise Administrator for Faith Formation.
  • Serve as a resource to children, youth, and adults in providing opportunities for learning, support and fellowship.
  • Ensure that the methods and programming used for teaching and fellowship are responsive to the needs of all and flow from current understanding of effective faith formation.
  • Oversee or assign to others the implementation of Vacation Bible School (VBS).
  • Oversee or assign to others the implementation of Sunday School.
  • Reviews and works with VBS and Sunday School leaders to select curriculum.
  • Develops and coordinates Faith Formation workshops and classes for all generations.
  • Advise, support, and inspire disciples who serve as leaders in the Faith Formation Ministry Hub.
  • Work with the Director for Discipleship in identifying disciples to serve on Faith Formation Ministry Hub.
  • Attend and participate in Staff Meetings.
  • Prepare annual budget for Faith Formation.
  • Review, approve, and route invoices to Church Accountant for timely payment.
  • Maintain accountability for Faith Formation expenditures.
  • Provide a yearly report as part of the annual meeting materials.
  • Attends relevant continuing education conferences and workshops.
