RME2 – Rostered Ministers Equipping Event

Rostered Ministers: Dare to Imagine

The Bishop’s Convocation is now known as the Rostered Ministers Equipping Event

Dare to Imagine how you can be a more innovative, effective church leader at the 2019 SEPA Synod Rostered Ministers Equipping Event (RME2), November 12-13.

Formerly known as “the Bishop’s Convocation,” the planning team has changed the name to reflect the event’s core mission of equipping rostered ministers of our Synod with ideas and toolsto thrive in our changing world of ministry.

Our keynote speakers will be the Rev. Emily M.D. Scott and the Rev. Dawn Alitz, Ph.D.

Emily Scott is a church planter who “makes new spiritual communities that are brimming with life, questions, and hope for a more just world.” Emily currently serves as the founding pastor of Dreams and Visionsin Baltimore, an imaginative spiritual community of restoration, rooted in the LGBTQ+ community. From 2008-2017, Emily served as the founding pastor of St. Lydia’s Dinner Church in Brooklyn, where worship is a full meal, shared around a dinner table. Her book, For All Who Hunger: Searching for Communion in a Shattered World, will be released in Spring, 2020 from Convergent, an imprint of Penguin Random House.

Dawn Alitz has been serving as the Director of the Center for Lifelong Learning since 2016. Her expertise is in the areas of adult faith formation, coaching, and program coordination. Serving as a lay leader, adjunct professor, and pastor, she has over twenty years of experience in congregational leadership in both mission-start and established congregations. Her role in the Center for Lifelong Learning places her in a unique position to design, pilot, and build out new business models for theological education, lifelong learning, and congregational leadership support.

They will lead us in practical, interactive sessions designed to lead us in the holy practice of imagination.

New Location:RME2, Dare to Imagine: Equipping Innovative Leaders, will be held November 12-13, 2019 at the Crowne Plaza (260 Mall Boulevard, King of Prussia, PA 19406).
