Shaping Your Ministry To Be Inclusive and Safe for LGBTQIA+ Folk

October 12 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

$10

Interested in learning how to expand your ministries to be more intentionally welcoming for LGBTQIA+ persons? Is your congregation already Reconciling in Christ but you want to know what more you can do? Do you feel like you just don’t know how to be the best ally you can be? Well, then do we have a day for you!

In God’s Image is a day-long (9-2) program of worship, workshops, conversation, and resources. Sponsored by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod, ELCA, and hosted at Reformation Lutheran Church in Media, PA, this is sure to be a great day. Folks from all over the region—Lutheran and non-Lutheran, church “professionals” and those who just want to know more—will gather at Reformation to share their experiences, learn about ministry potentials in their contexts, and share joys and concerns about inclusive and expansive ministry. It is the aim of this event to equip those who are passionate about ministry for and with LGBTQIA+ folks in their congregation, their families, their workplaces to be able to reach out in love and support for their beloved. Workshops will be offered in:

  • Worship Planning,
  • Youth Policy and Procedure,
  • the Reconciling in Christ Program (how to become it and how to live into it),
  • What Congregations Need to Know about Calling and Supporting LGBTQIA+ Rostered Leaders
  • Advocacy For and With LGBTQIA+ Persons,
  • Scripture and Theology,
  • Grammar and Conversation.

You can register here: https://community.ministrylink.org/ingodsimage (and we hope you will)! The $10 registration fee covers all-day brunch!

Childcare is available, please make your need known in the registration process
